This is the palace I told you I had visited in Spain. It is called the Alhambra in the city of Granada. This is where King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain sentenced Columbus to be imprisoned.

The second picture shows the Morrocan influence in architecture when the Arabs had conquered parts of Spain. This must have been during the time of Ibn Battuta's travels before the Spaniards took back controlof this area.

Oral presentations have been completed. We have heard many interesting facts and seen some really good pictures. Well done for your efforts!

We are still struggling with the skill of identifying key words or key phrases in a written speech, and then practising the speech with only those words so that our speech becomes more natural and we have the freedom to make eye-contact in order to keep the interest of our audience.

Notes to study from for the history cycle test have been handed out:

  • Christopher Columbus
  • David Livingstone
  • Summary of interesting facts on different Discoverers
History movie The Mission will be shown tomorrow between 2pm and 4.30pm. Remember that you need a signed reply slip to gain access :)
NB.This movie is not for very sensitive viewers.
